My Background and Approach

Hi! I’m Jessica and would love to work with you! I became interested in counseling years ago during a college internship and have worked in a variety of settings since. Since receiving my MA in Counseling I have spent my career devoted to working in college and high school settings in personal and career counseling.

My personal practice was born in 2021 when the pandemic forced me to re-evaluate my path. I now have the pleasure of helping guide people of all ages on their journey towards finding purpose and balance in their career and personal lives. I have always had a passion for helping people discover the selves they were meant to be. As a neurodivergent informed and LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor, I strive to create a safe space where you are encouraged to be your true authentic self.

I am not a “formal” counselor with my clients. I prefer to approach sessions like we are having a conversation and brainstorming ideas together. I may suggest ideas and make recommendations, but ultimately my goal is to meet you where you are at, listen to your story, and provide services that are tailored to you.

A little more about me: In my free time I enjoy traveling and exploring new places with my family, playing video games with my son, reading historical fiction, and staying up entirely too late binge-watching shows. I was diagnosed with ADHD-Inattentive Type in 2022 and the newfound awareness has been life changing. Shortly after, my son and husband learned about their own neurodivergent brains, leading us to create new systems for ourselves and learning better ways to communicate. Sometimes my symptoms will appear in our sessions as forgetting a certain word or having multiple ideas at once that I am excited to share with you. I can’t wait to meet you and hear your story!

Jessica worked with me to prepare for interviews. She prepped me on everything from how to set up my interview space to exact wording in my answers to really pull out my accomplishments and show off my talent. I left our meeting feeling 1000% more prepared to rock the socks off of my prospective employers.
